The Rebel's Call by John/Freedom of Mind/Self-Awareness/Courage/Attitude/Understanding/Hope

 

The Rebel’s Call - Nurturing Love

 

In a world filled with doubt and fear,

it is easy to forget that which we should hold dear,

We are a part of an integral, wonderful, whole,

not apart or alone, but together, united, our common goal!

 

Changing times bring many a challenge to our door,

where morals, truth and manners seem important no more.

Babies now often learn from a cold silver screen,

supplanting a mother’s love with an electronic machine.

 

We are taught from young, to follow a flag,

no matter where it leads, good or bad!

Separated by differences does not make us strong,

indeed this nationalistic lesson is all wrong.

 

Our ‘leaders’ tell us that only WE are great,

and to leave the ‘others’ to their deserving fate.

There can only be love for our own, we are told,

whilst their selfish, dark agendas begin to unfold.

 

Our brothers and sisters of every colour and race,

share a common need, to live in love’s good grace.

Yet politicians and rulers prefer to divide and conquer,

ensuring downtrodden misery with no border.

 

Those who see themselves as the privileged better,

do not understand that they are power’s debtor.

It is easy to climb on the pain of an unfortunate other,

where our humanity is a victim for ambition to smother.

 

Yet if we, the majority, the common ‘man’ band together,

we can make justice and fairness for all, our common tether!

What strength we need must come from within,

to seek unselfish self-betterment is no sin.

 

If we look at today, in honest, heartfelt truth, you’ll find,

many people have forgotten it’s truly a strength to be kind!

So, let us wholeheartedly decide that in this desultory clime,

we embrace nurturing love for all and that this is the time.

 

Unconditional love is infinitely stronger when embraced and shared,

bonded with common cause, we no longer need to be scared.

So, smile and remember that we are blessed to know

change happens from within and helps us grow.
