The Speck that wasn't

 

I keep water outside for my cat and this morning as I went to freshen the water I saw a very small speck or possibly a bit of grit on the dish. I was further away than the photo above when I first saw it. Anyway I went to look closer and much to my surprise I saw the following:-

 The smallest baby snail I have ever seen.

Changing The Lens

 

Nature’s vibrancy and life fill me with love,

whether it be a mouse, a worm or a snow-white dove.

The sun equally shines on rich and poor,

and that is a certainty of which, I’m sure.

At first thought, life can seem at times mundane,

boring, querulous, and anxious, driving me insane.

Yet, if I pause for thought and see it through,

I know it’s within me to start life anew!

Not by a physical act, like moving or changing my job,

but simply looking, listening and living as I cease to sob!

The true sunshine comes from within,

illuminating and beautifying, a maturity thing.

Now changing the lens on what I have seen,

I know that I can fulfil any dream.

So, no more sitting back; it is time to change,

there is nothing now out of my range.

Storm clouds and winds fill the sky,

I exhale and let out an elongated sigh.

I smile for my life is like that from time to time,

however, this storm will pass, and the sun will shine.

The Tree and Me

 

The Tree and Me

 

The tree has its roots firmly implanted in the ground,

branches aspiring to the heavens, with a blossom crown.

It doesn’t try to control its healthy growth,

it just grows in maturity, fulfilling its divine oath.

What can I learn from this wonderful tree,

is that I can just BE, and then I’ll be joyfully FREE!
