 Trust

 

With eyes of trust,

they look at me.

I wonder often

who is it they see?

 

Do they know at times,

I am filled with doubt?

So much so that often,

I want to scream and shout!

 

The price to be paid,

to be that special one.

Bears not thinking about,

because I will not cut and run.

 

The reward is in the love,

even if only from a single one.

That loving light, the smile,

that eclipses any sun!

This poem captures a moment in life, where sounds, images, senses come together to capture a unique moment in time. On reflection, each moment is unique, for they each have their own individual energy.

Thoughtful

Dark clouds in the sky

gracing the winds on high,

as the sun sinks down

over this peaceful town.

It's Sunday again and the TV's loud and boring,

it sounds just like a motorbike roaring.

The kids are out, playing in the street,

young people, agile, graceful, and fleet.

The circle of life turns, school, work, life, old age

hopefully we’ll gain wisdom and be like a sage!

Onwards we go, never seeing clearly

the mistakes we make sometimes costing us dearly

But on we go as we always must

with a smile, faith, hope, and trust.

When life feels tough and we are at temper’s length,

we dig deep and find love truly is our strength.

Adversity

 

My spirit feels battered and bruised,

and sometimes angry, used and abused.

Adversity has made itself known,

and seeds of uncertainty are now sown.

But I know and accept what needs to be done,

Winter's Hold

 

Winter’s Hold

 

It is cold and white across the land,

and I wish for the beach and golden sand.

Yet as I stand and appreciate the view,

I know winter must come for life to renew!

The golden sun rises spreading it’s rays,

turning white to gold and illuminating my day.

Gratitude follows appreciation of this natural beauty,

making love and joy a privilege and not a duty!
