Some days my life seems such a mess,

and no matter what I do, all I feel is stress!

If only there was a special place I could go,

feeling peace, then everything would slow.

I could catch my breath and think things out

leaving me relaxed, free and without any doubt.

Fate has lent a hand today, helping me remove my disarray,

I now know my Fortress of Serenity and it is here to stay!

My eyesight isn’t always good,

and my brain oft feels like wood.

Then my emotions swim in an unknown sea,

and I think, ‘Why this is happening to me?’

My balance too can be a test at times,

and I wonder is this life still truly mine?

I have decided this is the time to reset my health,

and enjoy what felt lost, my inner wealth.

Calming The Monkey Brain by John/Calming/Peaceful/Reduced Stress/Sorting Things Out/Change

 

Calming The Monkey Brain

 

My brain starts to scream and shout,

“Get ready for another bout!”

Then I panic and think, “Should I stay and fight?”,

or simply run for the hills and take flight.

Then I realise it is only my monkey brain,

that is causing me all this strain.

I need to be peaceful, calm and still,

all of course, without taking a pill.

I know now, to practice my meditation and breathing,

and then it’ll be goodbye to this unnecessary seething!
