Highland Splendour

Highland Splendour

The early morning mist,

nature’s splendour hides,

until the sun creeps up,

then grandeur bides.

I have two self-help stories available exclusively on Amazon, either on the Kindle or paperback, and I do hope that you find them interesting, thought-provoking, and, most of all, enjoyable: -

The Rock Philosophy

This simply written short story is aimed at those who seek to understand themselves, and through understanding themselves comes a greater understanding of life.

The Life of Jesus

(as witnessed by his brother)

Much has been written about Jesus, and no matter your view on religion or Christianity, this person, whether he was as described in the bible or not, has singularly shaped, to a greater or lesser extent, the lives we lead today through his wisdom. There are many versions of the story, but there is only one truth, and is it not better to know the truth?

And you will find an excellent read in this story by my son Colin, and it is here.

Peace and Serenity

Peace and Serenity

The serenity of the disappearing, dying sun,

fills me with great peace now that this day is done.

It will rise again tomorrow in a glorious blaze,

and my energy will resonate with the golden sun’s rays.

The Universe Speaks In Many Languages

One of my favourite TV series of all time is Babylon 5, and today's blog is about a speech (in the story) created by one of the main characters, GKar. Although it is from a scifi story, it is very much appropriate to all existence and I commend it to you along with thanks to the show's creator for the wonderful, inciteful show.

Here is the speech ( and when you see languages you don't recognise then replace them with our world's languages.:-

The Universe speaks in many languages, but only one voice. The language is not Narn, or Human, or Centauri, or Gaim or Minbari. It speaks in the language of hope; It speaks in the language of trust; It speaks in the language of strength, and the language of compassion. It is the language of the heart and the language of the soul. But always, it is the same voice. It is the voice of our ancestors, speaking through us, And the voice of our inheritors, waiting to be born. It is the small, still voice that says: We are one. No matter the blood; No matter the skin; No matter the world; No matter the star; We are one. No matter the pain; No matter the darkness; No matter the loss; No matter the fear; We are one. Here, gathered together in common cause. we agree to recognise this singular truth, and this singular rule: That we must be kind to one another, because each voice enriches us and ennobles us, and each voice lost diminishes us. We are the voice of the Universe, the soul of creation, the fire that will light the way to a better future. We are one.

Together

Together

Together we stand,

no matter life’s demand.

Bullies may come,

but we’ll not succumb.

There is a great truth within,

and once alight can never dim!

From a heart that’s free and true,

every loving breath has great value.
