Why Is Life So Hard by John/Beyond The Illusion/Feeling Discontent/Self-Determination/Time To Change

Why Is Life So Hard

I look in the mirror and who do I see,

a social construct looking back at me.

Is this how I want to live my life,

under another’s sacrificial knife?

NO! I choose to be the best I can be,

without the shadow of fear guiding me!

John

(This was written sometime ago, as you'll recognise with references to Aids and Covid.)

Do you feel there is something wrong with this existence? Then perhaps this audio piece from something I wrote a number of years ago will resonate with you. It beggars belief that it is even more appropriate now than it was then.

I have two self-help stories available exclusively on

Amazon, either on the Kindle or paperback, and I do

hope that you find them interesting, thought-

provoking, and, most of all, enjoyable: -

The Rock Philosophy

This simply written short story is aimed at those who

seek to understand themselves, and through

 understanding themselves comes a greater

 understanding of life.

The Life of Jesus

(as witnessed by his brother)

Much has been written about Jesus, and no matter your

view on religion or Christianity, this person, whether he

was as described in the bible or not, has singularly

shaped, to a greater or lesser extent, the lives we lead

today through his wisdom. There are many versions of

the story, but there is only one truth, and is it not

 better to know the truth?

The Wisdom of Nature by John/Natural Strength/The Power of Flexibility/Nature's Lessons/Self-Growth

The Wisdom Of Nature

The Oak Tree appears strong and hardly moves in any breeze.

The Willow Tree looks weak and could blow over with a sneeze.

Yet strong winds rip the oak tree from the ground,

whilst the willow bends, still strong and sound.

The Peaceful Warrior by John/Good Friend/Friendship/Trust/Poem/Love/Peace/Harmony/Awareness

 THE PEACEFUL WARRIOR

The Peaceful Warrior is brave and true,

a friend in need; they are there for you.

No need for them a sword to wield,

truth and love are their only shield.

Violence and anger they constantly shun,

yet from trouble, they never run.

They have learned to bend with each onslaught;

dignity and manners are all 'self' taught.

No more that raging battle cry,

"It is time to do or die!"

Courage is not in question here;

the cost to life is just too dear.

The only battle they'll ever fight

is one that needs no physical might.

It is that most difficult one within,

against fear and prejudice; they'll help you win.

Hibernation and Hope by John/Winter Blues/Spring/Rebirth/Cycle of Life

 Hibernation and Hope

In the midst of winter

surrounded by cold

but knowing warmth,

I sense the new-born spring,

the rebirth of life,

waiting for me.

The Cycle of Life (The Wind Blows) by John/Emotions/Emotional/Nature/Natural/Hope/Faith/Trust

 The Cycle of Life

Golden autumn trails her beauty,

as winter’s chill exerts its grip.

Yet in the cycle of life,

spring waits patiently in the wings,

while summer slumbers,

dreaming of long lazy days.
