Intermittent Explosive Disorder

 

It hits me like a streak of lightning,

and before I know it, I feel like a-fighting.

The blood is pounding in my head,

and my veins are popping, and I see red.

The cause, real or imaginary, doesn’t matter now,

as I face them with aggressive stance and heavy brow!

A part of me knows this me, is not who I want to be,

but unfortunately, common sense has gone and deserted me.

I regret this overwhelming rage and being so mean,

and I must now train myself to be calm and serene.

Interictal Dysphoric Disorder (IDD)

 

It often feels like an energy overload,

or at times like a car crash on a busy road.

My whole system seems to go haywire,

as my senses are consumed by blazing fire.

And afterwards there is no calm after the storm,

as my energies crash and I feel irritable and forlorn.

Help me please is my determined and hope filled cry,

and that to this condition I can then bid, GOODBYE!

It happens suddenly, right out of the blue,

and the effects of it I will truly rue.

This red-hot rage can explode and get a grip,

and then angry words from my mouth just slip.

It is time to clear the emotional triggers from my mind,

Anger Management

 

Anger Management Poem

 

My temper constantly bubbles in my mind,

until some unwitting target it will find.

Instantly my rage consumes like a burning fire,

and then there’s absolutely nothing about me to admire!

I want to feel great peace course through my every vein,

so that I don’t drive myself and those I love insane!

I have it within me to make this change that I so desire,

peace and calm are now mine and its goodbye to fire!
