What Do You See?

As mentioned previously I like to play with colours and let them tell their own story on canvas or paper, and I have been doing this for years.  Sometimes, also I'll have an idea of what I want to express then I leave it to the colours to give me their message and often it can be spookily impressive.  I have seen faces, animals, birds etc.. I haven't signed my images on the front because sometimes rotating them gives a completely different view.

My younger sister has inspired me to share some of those images with you and what I am thinking is this, each day I'll show a different image, you may see something, you may even see more than one thing, and under the law of synchronicity you may find something in the image that is relevant to you. The important thing is to relax and absorb the image and then it will show itself in it's fullness to you. Also having a healthy dose of imagination helps.

In any event, please feel free to comment and share if you so desire. I hope they bring you as much visual fun as they did me.

Tomorrow I'll share the name I gave today’s piece.

Any of my art shown is available as a print, starting from £15.00 ($20.00). Simply leave a comment with your email address and I will contact you.

I have two self-help stories available exclusively on

Amazon, either on the Kindle or paperback,

and I do hope that you find them interesting, thought-

provoking, and, most of all, enjoyable: -

The Rock Philosophy

This simply written short story is aimed at those

Who seek to understand themselves, and through

understanding themselves comes a greater

understanding of life.

The Life of Jesus

(as witnessed by his brother)

Much has been written about Jesus, and no matter your view on religion or Christianity,

this person, whether he was as described in the bible or not, has singularly

shaped, to a greater or lesser extent, the lives we lead

today through his wisdom. There are many versions of

the story, but there is only one truth, and is it not

better to know the truth?

A Father's Love (Tall Tree Standing)

Why Is Life So Hard by John/Beyond The Illusion/Feeling Discontent/Self-Determination/Time To Change

Why Is Life So Hard

I look in the mirror and who do I see,

a social construct looking back at me.

Is this how I want to live my life,

under another’s sacrificial knife?

NO! I choose to be the best I can be,

without the shadow of fear guiding me!

John

(This was written sometime ago, as you'll recognise with references to Aids and Covid.)

Do you feel there is something wrong with this existence? Then perhaps this audio piece from something I wrote a number of years ago will resonate with you. It beggars belief that it is even more appropriate now than it was then.

Hibernation and Hope by John/Winter Blues/Spring/Rebirth/Cycle of Life

 Hibernation and Hope

In the midst of winter

surrounded by cold

but knowing warmth,

I sense the new-born spring,

the rebirth of life,

waiting for me.

Self-Love by John/Emotional Protection/Self-Worth/Self-Assurance/Self-Care/Self-Awareness

Self-Love

I find I give out love too much,

and never to myself as such!

My unselfish love, I now also give to me,

that I may heal, thrive and be free!

The Great Play by John/Life/Understanding/Awareness/Enlightenment/Appreciation

The Great Play

I lift a rock and see insects

as they perform their rituals

unique in their performance

in the great play of life.

I look in the ocean and see fish

as they perform their rituals

unique in their performance

in the great play of life.

I look in the sky and see birds

as they perform their rituals

unique in their performance

in the great play of life.

I look in the fields and see animals

as they perform their rituals

unique in their performance

in the great play of life.

I look at my neighbours

as they perform their rituals

unique in their performance

in the great play of life.

And yet it is only we, the human race

gifted with compassion and reason

who can make a difference

in the great play of life.
