Panic Attacks

My lips are dry, and my throat is tight,

and my whole being feels filled with fright.

Where does it come from this terrible panic?

It makes me feel as if I am on the Titanic!

Yet if I slow my breathing, it sooths my hammering heart,

I know now I can feel peace, and it is a great start!

Deterring Unwanted Attention and Harassment

There are those predatory people who seek,

to take advantage of those who they deem weak.

It may be a look, word, touch or plain aggression,

then I am filled with uncertainty and tension.

The path of peace, harmony and privacy is what I choose,

and that their unwelcome attention and harassment I lose.

So, I now find within me, the inner power I need and desire,

that easily protects me without thunder and fire.
