The Mid-Life Crisis

 

I cannot believe it has happened so soon,

and I feel as if I could howl at the moon.

I think I am in my mid-life crisis with how I feel,

what I held to be true has lost its authentic seal.

It is confusing and my world now feels upside down,

as my face struggles to hide my concerned frown.

I must know what is real and not a shadow of fear,

wonderful peace of mind will then be my friend and dear.

to have them ignore me with studied ignorance.

The thoughts in my head with energy glisten,

The power of my character to longer hidden,

newfound confidence arrives, unbidden.
