What is the truth?

The Truth

The following is an excerpt on truth from my book

The Life of Jesus (as witnessed by his brother).

I looked around at all the faces as we walked, and I could see they were all thinking this one through.  I have to say I agreed totally with Jesus; everyone’s truth can be different. Jesus then went on to tell everyone to look at the large tree we were passing, which we all did.  He asked us to look at the shadow, which was cast, which we did.  Would we all swear on our lives where the shadow was, which we did by nodding our heads.  He then went on to ask us to imagine we had just met someone who had passed the tree earlier on in the day.  “Where do you think he would say the shadow fell?” he asked.  Of course, we all realized it would be a different place. “So, who was correct?” he asked.  We all nodded our heads in understanding. “Yet” He continued “You were all prepared to stake your lives on where the shadow was!” Again, we all nodded our heads in agreement. “This is where man gets easily confused as he cannot recognize with ease another’s truth!  What is true is that the tree has never moved. The shadow changes in relation to the sun and the tree.  Illumination is continually changing along with our understanding if we allow it to be so.!”

I asked Jesus then if the tree was like GOD, or the Great Spirit, or whatever people or religions chose to call the divine love of the Universe?

“Thomas”, he replied, “the tree is indeed GOD.  We only see the shadow, for we are mortal. The illumination of the ‘tree’ changes its shadow, which is like our understanding of GOD, yet the tree has always remained in the same place.”

I have two self-help stories available exclusively on Amazon, either on the Kindle or paperback, and I do hope that you find them interesting, thought-provoking, and, most of all, enjoyable: -

The Rock Philosophy

This simply written short story is aimed at those who seek to understand themselves, and through understanding themselves comes a greater understanding of life.

The Life of Jesus

(as witnessed by his brother)

Much has been written about Jesus, and no matter your view on religion or Christianity, this person, whether he was as described in the bible or not, has singularly shaped, to a greater or lesser extent, the lives we lead today through his wisdom. There are many versions of the story, but there is only one truth, and is it not better to know the truth?

And you will find an excellent read in this recently published story by my son Colin, it is here.
