Overcoming the Darkness of Depression

 

Within the pit there is only darkness,

a heaviness of heart and laboured breathing.

Hope has ceased to exist, and endings may be sought.

Yet there is a glimmer! 

Imagine breath is light, and light is life.
If there is life there is hope.
And where there is hope, there can be no pit. 

If there is no pit, there is no darkness,
and with no darkness, the heaviness disappears,

and breathing normally is a thing of wonder.
In wonder, we feel LIFE coursing through
every aspect of our being.
With this feeling we discover we are each
a unique and irrepressible force of nature.
