Intermittent Explosive Disorder

 

It hits me like a streak of lightning,

and before I know it, I feel like a-fighting.

The blood is pounding in my head,

and my veins are popping, and I see red.

The cause, real or imaginary, doesn’t matter now,

as I face them with aggressive stance and heavy brow!

A part of me knows this me, is not who I want to be,

but unfortunately, common sense has gone and deserted me.

I regret this overwhelming rage and being so mean,

and I must now train myself to be calm and serene.
