 Self-Doubt

 

In life we pass through dark places,

and it is all part of the great test.

It’s not easy when it happens,

sapping energy and Life’s zest!

 

Looking around we see only shadows,

forgetting they are only a lack of light,

something with no substance,

yet I let myself believe nothing is right!

 

It is a law of nature, Day follows Night,

knowing this, I see with newfound sight!

Seeing shadows dispel, no longer under their spell,

now beautiful vibrant colors, it is HOPE, I can tell!

 

Knowing oneself honestly, faults and all,

can help us to grow, and to stand ‘tall’.

No more the need for that inner boxing bout,

as we remove at last the torture of SELF-DOUBT!
