The Speck that wasn't

 

I keep water outside for my cat and this morning as I went to freshen the water I saw a very small speck or possibly a bit of grit on the dish. I was further away than the photo above when I first saw it. Anyway I went to look closer and much to my surprise I saw the following:-

 The smallest baby snail I have ever seen.
